The initial stages of a project set the direction of the project, and can have a major impact on costs, schedule, and profitability. Our team’s knowledge of structural engineering is utilized in the early stage planning process by Owners and Architects to help them determine the most efficient structural system for their project.
Architectural demands, coupled with Owner requirements, are forcing engineers to develop new ways of providing the required structural resistance. A major, and often overlooked, aspect of the design is the lateral system requirements. Our teams has extensive knowledge working with the most complex building systems, ranging in size from single family homes to multi-story towers. We use this knowledge, coupled with the latest computer software, to understand the complex forces that are exerted on a structure during a high wind/seismic event. Our team provides a complete, efficient lateral system design integrated into the architecture. The efficiency of our design saves our Clients time and money without compromising the architectural integrity of the project.
RTE offers structural design services for residential, commercial, institutional and industrial type projects. Our designs are tailored for each project, and our knowledge of a variety of building materials offers our clients the ideal solution for their project. We provide services ranging from project inception through construction.
The structural capacity and condition of an existing structure can often be the determining factor for Owners who are looking to purchase, remodel or even sell a property. RTE provides Owners, Contractors, Property Managers with complete structural evaluation services to assist them in making the critical decisions required in real estate development.
The construction industry is moving towards greater emphasis on regulation and oversight. Inspections of work performed by Contractors is an essential step in obtaining building department approval. RTE can perform the inspections necessary to complete a project. Our inspectors assist Owners, property managers, and Contractors ensure their project is being built according to project documents. We are a licensed and approved NYC special inspector.
RTE offers our Clients Construction Administration services ranging from project cost estimations, submittal review/approval, field engineering, and shop drawing production. Our knowledge of proper construction techniques compliments our strong design background; enabling us to provide a complete service offering to our Clients.
The Principals of Reilly Tarantino Engineering have over 80 years of combined experienced. They are involved in every aspect of the Project life cycle.

Mr. Tarantino has over 15 years of experience within structural engineering. He has managed projects ranging in size from single-family homes to soaring skyscrapers. Mr. Tarantino’s extensive technical knowledge includes the analysis of complex building systems using computer modelling, the understanding of how lateral forces impact a structure, and familiarity with all common types of construction materials.
As Managing Principal of Reilly Tarantino, Mr. Tarantino’s roles include setting and implementing the overall strategy of the Company, maintaining Client relationships, overseeing Projects, establishing technical knowledge guidelines, nurturing and developing staff capabilities, and ensuring quality controls are maintained throughout the Project process.
Mr. Tarantino received his Master’s degree from Manhattan College, and his undergraduate Degree from Bucknell University.
Mr. Reilly has over 25 years of experience within structural engineering. His extensive project history includes the design of over 250 residential projects and 100 schools on Long Island.
Mr. Reilly manages the day-to-day operation of the firm, ensuring all Client requests are met in a timely manner and coordinating the office work flow.
Mr. Reilly received his bachelor’s degree from SUNY Farmingdale.
Mr. Reilly engineering knowledge spans over 4 decades! He has led a small engineering firm for over 40 years, and continues to impart his experience and wisdom to our staff and Clients. Mr. Reilly has completed over 2,500 projects ranging from a single family home to massive industrial warehouses.
Mr. Reilly leads our Quality Control department, as well as managing his own projects within the firm. He also offers his services to our staff as a point of reference for the most challenging of technical situations.
Mr. Reilly received his Master’s degree from Columbia University, and his undergraduate Degree from Manhattan College.
